The biggest British luxury fashion house is renowned for its iconic trench coats, distinctive nova check pattern and timeless designs.

It was founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry and was originally focused on outdoor attire, but has evolved into a global fashion powerhouse.

The History of the iconic Nova Check dates back to the 1920s, first lining its trench coats, before spawning outwards onto cashmere scarves in the 60s and eventually finding its way in the brand’s ready-to-wear collections in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s.

Especially in the 1980s everything changed for Burberry as their customer base shifted from being worn by wealthy upper-class families to being worn by different subcultures including UK football hooligans and later in the 90s the “Chavs”.

This led to Burberry, Stone Island, C.P. Company, Sergio Tacchini and many other brands rather being seen in the daily news due to British football hooligans, than in fashion magazines or on runways.

These two subcultures had a great influence on European sportswear culture in general.

The brand has ever since been a real must-have for enthusiasts all over Europe and is especially loved for its 1980s to 2000s range.

Also nowadays various big Music and especially Hip Hop and Rap Artists are seen wearing the Brand over and over again, including the likes of Lil Baby, Drake, Gunna, Rich Homie Quan, Lil Wayne, Migos, Young Dolph, Ed Sheeran and way more.
